The American Pavilion has received an exclusive invitation from the Venice International Film Festival to bring a select group of students and recent grads to this year’s 80th Anniversary Festival.
Venice is the oldest film festival in the world, with a storied history. The Golden Lion is a coveted award sought by directors from all over the world. This year’s jury president is Damien Chazelle (Babylon, La La Land).

Venice Program Fee: $2,995
Program Dates: August 29 – September 6
Program Fee includes:
- Transportation between Venice Marco Polo Airport and residence
- Eight nights of shared accommodation in central Venice
- Daily breakfast
- Festival Accreditation
Flight/Travel Arrangements:
Participants are responsible for travel arrangements to and from Venice, Italy.
You should plan to ARRIVE at the Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) on Tuesday, August 29, (keep in mind when flying from the US, you will most likely depart on Monday, August 28). We recommend arriving between 12pm and 5pm (though not required – we will provide transportation from the airport to our housing at any time you arrive on Tuesday). The Festival begins the next day, Wednesday, August 30.
You should plan to DEPART from VCE on Wednesday, September 6. It is recommended to depart in the morning since we all must check out by 10am that morning.
